The position is for 25 hours per week over 5 days (Monday-Friday)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team. The Governors of St. Philip’s CE Primary warmly welcomes applications to join our happy, thriving, inclusive school. 

We are seeking an energetic, skilled and caring practitioner to join our team. They will work closely with other professionals, act on recommendations from external agencies such as SALT, EP and the Autism Support Team. This position is fixed term until August 2025 (in the first instance) and is linked to Group funding.

The right candidate will be able to plan, deliver and monitor well thought out sessions to support the development of a small group of year 3 pupils. They will work closely with the class teacher to ensure an adaptive curriculum offer for children with a range of needs.

  • Motivate and encourage the pupil(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs
  • Liaise with class teacher, SENDCO and other professionals about the pupil’s profile and contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate
  • Be consistent and effective when implementing agreed behaviour management and social communication strategies
  • Help to make appropriate resources to support the pupil/group
  • Willing to engage in training to increase knowledge and understanding around the role 
  • Confident to supervise and work with small groups
  • Demonstrates flexibility in approach
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on progress
