Dates:  Apply by 27th September.  Interviews will take place on 4th October

Salary: HLTA Grade F NVQ L3 or Equivalent (term time)

Location: Pinefield Centre, Formby

The Complementary Education Service Supports schools in ensuring statutory educational provision for pupils who cannot attend school in the usual way as a result of medical illness, pregnancy or emotional and psychological difficulties.

Teaching support is provided within a teaching base in the centre of the borough and through provision of home tuition and distance learning packages. We are a small, dedicated team based centrally within the borough linked to a wider SEN and Inclusion Service. As such you can expect to benefit from a wide range of expertise from colleagues who are committed to securing the best possible outcomes for students’ emotional health, wellbeing resilience and academic progress.

We work in partnership with local schools and agencies including CAMHS, health partners, careers services and social care practitioners. The Service supports schools in raising the levels of achievement, attendance and participation for vulnerable groups to enable them to engage in appropriate learning opportunities with a view to reintegrating with their mainstream or specialist settings.

We are looking to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to organise and support teaching and learning activities and programmes for individual students under the direction and supervision of qualified teachers. You will deliver learning programmes for Science across Key Stages three and four.

We require candidates with considerable experience in supporting young people with social emotional and mental health needs including emotional based school avoidance. The post provides a valuable and rewarding opportunity to help our students build resilience and confidence to reintegrate and re-engage with their respective schools or manage successful transitions into their next settings.

The post will require travel to students’ home and school settings and is subject to a casual car user mileage allowance.

Visits to our teaching base at Pinefield would be welcomed
